GEMS OF ICELAND - 2017

Tour Code - ZRS 6 days - REYKJAVIK to REYKJAVIK $3429 AUD

With its glaciers, icebergs, geothermal areas, roaring rivers, majestic waterfalls, and beautiful lakes, Iceland is a country steeped in breathtaking natural wonders. On this Iceland tour, you'll witness these natural wonders while enjoying fun and unique experiences.

Scenic highlights include Iceland’s most famous waterfall, mighty Gullfoss, which plummets down 105 feet over two stages into a rugged canyon. Drive through the national park at Skaftafell and stop at Lake Jökulsárlón, the deepest lake in Iceland. Watch how Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull, flows into the lake and forms icebergs. Another scenic drive gives you the opportunity to see Skogafoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s biggest waterfalls, and Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, which is a unique waterfall with a foot path behind it.

Throughout this Iceland tour, Globus has also included some out-of-the-ordinary experiences to make your vacation unique. In Thingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, walk through the rift valley that marks the separation between the North American and European tectonic plates. In Geysir, walk with the chef of the Geysir restaurant through the geothermal areas, where you'll taste freshly baked bread cooked using the heat from the hot springs. You'll wash it down with a glass of geysir schnapps. Another unique and unforgettable experience Globus offers is a boat cruise to see whales in their natural habitat! You’ll also visit Hellisheiðavirkjun, one of the world’s largest geothermal power stations.

Throughout this Iceland tour, you’ll be accompanied by a Tour Director dedicated to showing you this stunning country and teaching you about its culture and heritage. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime vacation!

Departures marked are guaranteed to operate.

Where "GD" appears next to a departure, the itinerary is a “Guaranteed Departure” and therefore guaranteed to operate. Tours without the “GD” indicator are still planned to operate, however may be subject to rescheduling. Many factors determine whether a departure becomes guaranteed. Ask your travel agent for advice on the best option for you.

PLEASE NOTE: This guarantee does not apply in any situation where the safety of clients is at potential risk or in the case of global health warnings; or when the operation of a tour is not possible for reasons beyond our control (such as industrial action/strikes and operational restrictions); or a Force Majeure event.

A Force Majeure event is an inevitable or unpredictable event including fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane (or other natural disaster), act of war, invasion, act of foreign enemies, hostilities (regardless of whether war is declared), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power or confiscation, terrorist activities, nationalisation, government sanction, political unrest, blockage, embargo, labour dispute or strike.
