Start your holiday in Munich with visits to the Marienplatz and the Frauenkirche. Travel into the Bavarian Alps and visit King Ludwig's magnificent Neuschwanstein Castle before arriving in Oberammergau for the highlight of your holiday- the original Passion Play performed once-a-decade by the town’s locals to fulfil a promise made to God in 1634. Via Innsbruck, Austria, stop in Einsiedeln, the most famous pilgrimage site in Switzerland, to visit the baroque Abbey Church. Visit picture-book Lucerne, the center of Catholic resistance during the time of the Reformation. Back to Germany, to visit the Rhine Falls, Black Forest, and Aachen - home of the cathedral where 30 Holy Roman Emperors were crowned between the 10th and the 16th centuries. Arrive in ‘Holy Cologne’ to visit the gothic cathedral. Enjoy a Rhine cruise, wine tasting, and farewell dinner in Rüdesheim, before ending your holiday in Frankfurt.
