How many people will be on the coach with me?
The average number of people on a Globus tour is 38, and we limit the number of tour members on our tours to a maximum of 44. This ensures smaller groups giving you more space, comfort and legroom. However our Platinum Collection tours carry a maximum of 40 passengers.
What is the benefit of travelling on the Eurostar high speed train?
Globus uses the Eurostar for all channel crossing from London to Europe. The Eurostar takes you from the heart of London to the centre of Paris in 2 hours 15 minutes or Brussels in around 2 hours, while other operators will travel all day using coach, ferry and coach. With Globus you effective get an extra half day to explore in each direction.
Whom will I be travelling with on my escorted tour?
International clientele of many ages all sharing the one passion - travel
How much time will I spend on the coach?

  • Depending on the itinerary and your destinations this will vary. Longer trips may have breaks in between for passenger comfort and to view attractions in between
  • Time on the coach gives you the opportunity to meet new friends
  • Coaches are all air conditioned for passenger comfort
It is occasionally said that coach tours have too much routine, how can I add to my overall holiday experience?

  • Optional excursions can be purchased
  • Independent free time to explore
How much time will I spend at each destination?

  • Depending on your tour, this will vary. At times you'll have the opportunity for a picture stop and talk by your tour director other times you'll have a number of hours to visit inside key attractions
  • On some of our tours we'll have multiple night's stays in the one destination giving you ample time to explore in your own time
What is a guaranteed departure?

The tour departures marked are guaranteed to operate. Furthermore, Globus guarantees all departures that are still in operation 45 days prior to the published departure date. Throughout our peak period, 1 May to 15 October, Globus guarantee all departures that are still in operation 60 days prior to departure.

PLEASE NOTE: This guarantee does not apply in any situation where the safety of clients is at potential risk (any act of terrorism or war, political unrest, global health warnings or Force Majeure*, etc); or when the operation of a vacation is not possible for reasons beyond our control (such as industrial action/strikes and operational restrictions); to multiple coach departures (i.e. "A" coach) or late cancellation of group parties.

*Force Majeure: French for "act of God; an inevitable, unpredictable act of nature, not dependent on act of man. Used in insurance contracts to refer to acts of nature such as earthquakes or lightning."
Does Globus offer more tours that are not printed within each brochure?
Yes, Globus offers over 200 tours worldwide and it is not possible to include these all in our brochures. All tours are featured on this site and it has been designed to make it easy for you to find the right tour by simply search via the destination to which you want to travel.
How do I read the Trip Scale?
Because Globus offers so many vacation options, we've added a Trip Scale to our itinerary pages to make it easy to determine the pace and sightseeing ratings at a glance.

 PACE
Leisurely

On the Go

From Leisurely to On The Go, the Pace scale lets you know what to expect from your itinerary.

 SIGHTSEEING
Natural Wonders

City/Cultural

The Sightseeing scale tells you if you will be experiencing Natural Wonders, City/Cultural sights, or a combination of both.
I'm finding it difficult to match two tours together?
Have you considered pre or post tour accommodation? We offer fantastic rates hard to find elsewhere and this may enable you to select sequential tours with minimal disruption to your intended travel plans
What is the difference between a tour director and a local guide? What are they like?
Your tour director will accompany you from the start to the end of your tour, educating you on the places and the history of the destination. Local guides are included in many cities to give you in-depth information on the culture, history and attractions of the city. Both Tour Director and Local Guides have a passion for travel, people and the destination and look forward to sharing their passion with you. If you chose to book either a "pre" or "post" - vacation extension, please note that your Tour Director may not escort you during this part of your vacation. However, in such cases, a Local Host will be available should you require any assistance.
Will the tour director speak English?
Yes, we operate only English speaking tours
Do you accept travellers who need special assistance?
Any disability requiring special attention should be reported to Globus by you or your travel agent at the time the reservation is made. Globus will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of disabled tour participants, but is not responsible in the event it is unable to do so, nor is it responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, restaurants, or other independent suppliers. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to a tour member for walking, dining, and getting on and off motorcoaches and other transportation vehicles, or other personal needs. A qualified companion must accompany travellers who need such assistance.
Are prices based on double occupancy?
Prices are per person, based on two persons sharing a room. Single room supplements and triple room reductions are listed where available.
Do I get discounts if I book multiple tours?
Save $150 per couple (AU $75 per person) for every second or subsequent tour booked in the same calendar year. The more tours you book the more you save!
How old does a child have to be to travel with Globus?
An adult must accompany travellers who are less than 18 years old on the tour departure date; the child receives a 10% discount on the land tour price. We do not accept children under the age of 8 on escorted tours, because we have found they are too young to enjoy these vacations.
On our independent vacations, there is no minimum age requirement. Land arrangements for infants under two are free of charge, providing parents pay directly to the hotels for food, crib, etc. Infants sometimes fly free of charge if they do not occupy a seat, while some airlines charge 10%. An airline ticket is always required for the child. Please arrange for this ticket directly with the airline.

How is my airfare price determined if I purchase air through Globus?
Air prices are quoted at the best price available at the time you make the reservation. An additional $250 non-refundable deposit is required for air booked in conjunction with any land vacation (i.e., air-inclusive holiday). However, once you airfare is confirmed, for departures in Jan 1, 2009 - Dec. 31, 2009, and Globus has received your full air and land deposit, your air-inclusive holiday price is guaranteed. Departure is based on the land start date as listed in the holiday itinerary. Air is only available to passengers travelling from Australia and only availbe when booked in conjunction with a land vacation. Any revisions or changes to airfare at your request after receipt of full land and air deposit are subject to revision fees and/or airline imposed change or cancellation fees. Please ask if any such charges apply before making changes as all changes at your request are payable by you.
Safety Net Protection Policy
Globus is dedicated to ensuring your trip is worry and hassle free, even when booking. Should you be uncertain what your commitments will be leading up to your departure, Globus offer a SafetyNet Protection policy*, for $75 per person. The SafetyNet Transfer Protection* enables Globus passengers to amend their tour up to 24 hours prior to the tour departure date to another tour departing in the same calendar year, (once only) without any applicable cancellation charges or penalties. The SafetyNet Cancellation Protection* enables Globus passengers to cancel their tour in full - up to 30 days prior to the tour departure date, without any applicable cancellation charges or penalties.
*Conditions apply, please see below.

Conditions of the SafetyNet Protection policy
The $75 SafetyNet Protection must be paid at the time of the tour deposit and is payable per person per booking (not per tour) and is non-refundable. The SafetyNet Transfer Protection and SafetyNet Cancellation Protection applies to the tour, associated pre/post accommodation and transfers booked directly with Globus Family of travel brands. The SafetyNet Protection does not apply to any airfares booked and ticketed via the Globus Family of travel brands, or any products purchased via another wholesale or retail supplier. Passengers can only use "one" of the two SafetyNet Protection Policies; choose either the SafetyNet Transfer Protection, or the SafetyNet Cancellation Protection, not both.
For example: if a passenger uses the SafetyNet Transfer Protection to amend their 2008 tour (say 48 hours prior to the original tours departure date) to a later 2008 Globus Family of travel brands tour departure date, they then cannot use the SafetyNet Cancellation Protection to cancel their Globus Family of travel brands tour in full without incurring the applicable cancellation charges or penalties - as per the 2008 Globus Family of travel brands brochure terms and conditions. If the SafetyNet Transfer Protection is applied, and the booking is subsequently cancelled by the passenger the original booking and transfer date will be reviewed, the transfer date of the original booking will then be taken as the tour cancellation date. Cancellation penalties that apply to the original booking will be compared with the cancellation penalties to that of the tour transferred booking, the higher penalties will be applied.

Please Note: The SafetyNet Protection must be purchased for each individual passenger and the purchase covers an individual passenger's Globus Family of travel brands tours booked at the same time the SafetyNet Protection is purchased.
